Gulf Of Mexico Oil Spill

Why is it the USA's problem? It should strictly be the oil company's(BP) problem. I can understand our President's role in this, but only to ensure BP does the right thing and to make sure laws are set in place to keep this from happening again. BP's criminal acts of causing the lose of their employees lives and cutting corners on safety equipment is what should be focused on, also. They are no different than any other company; always cutting costs at the expense of their workers and equipment. Our government should ensure these companies can't cut those costs, as terrible as that may sound.....I know, more regulation. It is just my opinion but they have proven they can not be trusted with our lives.
